Wang W., Li Z., Liu J.-Z., Wang Y.-J., Liu S.-H., Sun M. (2013): Comparison between thermal hydrolysis and enzymatic proteolysis processes for the preparation of tilapia skin collagen hydrolysates. Czech J. Food Sci., 31: 1–4 The tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) skin hydrolysate was produced by thermal or enzymatic hydrolysis processes. Several product characteristics were studied such as the average molecular weight, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging activity, yield, and protein content, in order to compare thermal hydrolysis and enzymatic proteolysis processes for the hydrolysed tilapia skin collagen production. The effects of the following hydrolysis parameters (retorting time and pH, protease combination, and proteolysis time) were studied. Compared with the thermal hydrolysis process, the enzymatic proteolysis process needed less time and milder conditions, under which hydrolysates could be obtained as low molecular weight antioxidant peptides.

Background and purpose: Biological studies on marine fauna, especially invertebrates, has significantly increased in recent years which led to the identification of many different bioactive compounds. The sea cucumber are echinoderms with a very muscular body wall that contains 70% collagen and is considered a rich source of protein. Based on recent researches on bioactive compounds extracted f...
متن کاملAntihypertensive properties of tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) frame and skin enzymatic protein hydrolysates
Proteins from tilapia frame and skin can potentially be precursors of antihypertensive peptides according to the result of BIOPEP analyses. The aim was to generate peptides with inhibitory effects against angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and renin from tilapia frame and skin protein isolates (FPI and SPI). The most active hydrolysate was then tested for blood pressure-lowering ability in spo...
متن کاملCharacterization of Yeast Protein Enzymatic Hydrolysis and Autolysis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces marxianus
Protein recovery under sonication treatment and autolysis, also protein hydrolysis progress during enzymatic hydrolysis (using trypsin and chymotrypsin) and autolysis (using endogenous enzymes) were investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces marxianus. Crude protein content of dried yeast cells were 53.22% and 45.6% for S.cerevisiae and K.marxianus, respectively. After 96 hrs of...
متن کاملGene expression changes of collagen І and ІІІ in human skin fibroblast cells in effect of microalga Chlorella vulgaris extract and compared to vitamin C
Skin aging is a biological process that is due to the reduction of collagen production and increase of multiple enzymes, including matrix metalloproteinase (MMPS), which degrade collagen. Chlorella vulgaris is a marine microalga and its beneficial effects on the skin make it a proper ingredient to be used in anti-aging products. In this study, the effect of C. vulgaris extract comparing to vita...
